Call for Entries: Gasp


The Gasp exhibition has been postponed. The call for entries will be republished in June with a deadline to enter of September 16.

 

Please note the following changes regarding our Gasp in-Gallery exhibition. Due to scheduling updates, this exhibition has been postponed. The call for entries will be republished in June 2024 and the new entry deadline will be September 16, 2024. The exhibit will be the first of the new year and will be presented at Art Saint Louis January 11-February 12, 2025. A free opening reception will be held for the exhibition on Saturday, January 11 from 5-7 p.m.

For this all media juried exhibition, we invite All explorations & interpretations of this theme are invited with works in all media, styles and techniques encouraged. Open to STL regional artists 18+. Jurors: Dail Chambers, St. Louis-based Award-winning artist, creative consultant, educator, community activist, maker, thinker; Nick Nihira, artist, Professor of Art, Jefferson College, Hillsboro, MO. MFA Washington University in St. Louis, BFA Columbus College of Art & Design. For this exhibition, we are seeking provocative artworks that push boundaries with subject matter and imagery intended to shock*, startle, surprise, confront, or disarm viewers. We encourage all explorations and interpretations of this theme. Works in all media, styles and techniques are encouraged. *Please note that we do not censor artwork. We respect and deeply value artistic freedom & freedom of speech. All imagery, themes and concepts are considered. For this particular exhibition, although we are seeking imagery with a level of shock value, we will not consider or exhibit work that includes hate speech, racism, is anti-human rights, or work that attacks or marginalizes any individual or people groups.
