Art Saint Louis presents "Varsity Art XXIII," our 23rd annual invitational exhibition featuring 41 outstanding undergrad & graduate level art students representing 21 St. Louis regional universities and colleges from Missouri & Illinois.

The exhibit is presented March 1-28, 2019 and opens with a free reception on Friday, March 1 from 6-8 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Closed Sunday & major holidays.

This multi-media exhibit will feature 41 artworks in a variety of media including ceramics, digital imaging, drawing, graphic design, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. We invite you to view images from the exhibit in our Facebook album here. You can also find our event item on Facebook here for the opening reception and exhibit.

One of the interesting features of this exhibit is the opportunity for people to Meet the Artists through our unique Artist Interview Videos. These videos briefly introduce viewers to the participating artists. After the show opens, videos will be posted throughout the exhibit on social media platforms and the Art Saint Louis YouTube Channel.

Another feature to this exhibit is that one artist's work will be selected to receive an Award of Excellence as an "outstanding" artwork in the exhibition. That artist will then be eligible to submit artwork for our Honor Awards 2020 curated exhibition, a special show only open to artists who receive Awards of Excellence in our juried exhibits in the ASL Gallery during 2019—this is considered quite an honor. The exhibit will be presented Summer 2020 and will be juried by artist Amy MacLennan, Professor, McKendree University.

PARKING RECOMMENDATIONS
There are parking METERS on Pine Street and Olive Street & other nearby streets. Parking meters run 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Fines are steep ($20), so don't let your meter expire. If you park at a meter for the reception, remember that meters operate in downtown until 7 p.m. on Saturday. Visit Downtown St. Louis.org's website for additional parking suggestions. You can also download the handy Parkmobile app, whereby you can monitor & pay your parking meter via your mobile phone.

Hourly parking is available in the PARK PACIFIC GARAGE on Olive just West of Tucker (entrance is on the South side of Olive). Parking is at your own expense. For garage parking, pay by cash via a machine in elevator bay no more than 15 minutes prior to departure OR the easier way is to pay by credit card upon exiting the garage. Be sure to take your parking receipt/ticket with you when you exit your car to visit the Gallery or you won't be able to get back in to the garage to get to your garage. Your parking ticket is your key to get back in to the garage. Art Saint Louis cannot validate parking.

The Gallery is easily accessible by PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION with MetroLink and MetroBus with MetroBus stops nearby.
