[context]Texture was a multi-media exhibition featuring 58 new artworks that explored texture, wherein the context of the work was texture in some way, i.e. physically, conceptually, emotionally, or any other interpretation. The exhibit took place from August 13, 2012, to October 4, 2012. The exhibit jurors were Joe Chesla, Professor of Design & Sculpture, St. Louis Community College, Meramec; and Jo Stealey, Professor, University of Missouri-Columbia.

From 208 artworks submitted by 109 artists for our jurors' consideration for the [context]Texture exhibition, Mr. Chesla and Ms. Stealey selected 58 works in all media by 44 St. Louis regional artists for this new exhibit. In conjunction with this exhibit, Art Saint Louis hosted two Meet the Artists Saturdays wherein featured artists were on-hand in the Gallery to greet visitors & discuss their works in the show. These very casual & unstructured events were free & open to the public.
